Some website, cloud or email service providers may process or store information outside South Africa.
Where personal information is transferred internationally, we will take reasonable steps to ensure that the transfer complies with section 72 of POPIA, including using providers subject to appropriate laws, binding agreements, corporate rules or other lawful safeguards.
10. Security
We use reasonable technical and organisational safeguards appropriate to the nature of the information we process. These may include access controls, secure hosting, protected server-side functions, input validation, anti-spam measures, system monitoring and restricted access to business communications.
No internet transmission or storage system can be guaranteed to be completely secure. If we become aware of a security compromise involving personal information, we will take appropriate steps and provide notifications where required by law.
11. Retention
We keep personal information only for as long as reasonably necessary for the purpose for which it was collected, or as required by law.
Enquiries that do not result in a client relationship will generally be retained for no longer than 24 months after the last meaningful communication, unless:
- You ask us to retain your information;
- Continued retention is reasonably necessary for an ongoing matter;
- The information must be retained by law; or
- It is needed to establish, exercise or defend a legal claim.

Technical server logs may record information such as IP addresses, devices, browsers, access times and requested pages to maintain security, diagnose errors and monitor website performance.
If non-essential cookies are used, visitors must receive appropriate information and choices through a cookie notice or consent mechanism where required. AEGIS ELITE does not use website cookies to sell personal information.

Submitting a general enquiry does not automatically subscribe you to marketing communications.
We will send electronic direct marketing only where we have a lawful basis to do so. Marketing messages will identify AEGIS ELITE and provide a reasonable way to unsubscribe.
You may withdraw consent or object to direct marketing at any time by contacting info@aegiselite.co.za.

Requests may be sent to the Information Officer using the contact details in section 2.
15. Automated decisions
